HOW TO SEARCH FOR FREE STREAMS AND DOWNLOADS USING FINDAGROOV

Search results in FINDAGROOV are alphabetized by song title and are based on partial matches of your search phrase in the following order:

  1. Song Title
  2. Artist
  3. Album Title
  4. Website Name

As with any good search engine, searches in FINDAGROOV are case insensitive.

The following example shows results for a general search on the word “love”.

However, if you want to find exact matches for your search phrase, you can do so by preceding it with an equal sign.

The following example shows results for songs exactly matching the word “War” — whether as a song title, name of artist, album title, or website name.

Suppose you only want to search for songs by song title. To do that, precede your search phrase with song:.

The following example shows results for songs whose title contains the word “best”.

You can also search for an exact match on song titles by including the equal sign.

The following example shows results for songs whose title exactly matches “I Love You”.

Now suppose you only want to search for songs based on the artist name. To do that, precede your search phrase with artist:.

The following example shows results for songs by artists whose names contain the letters “war”.

You can do an exact search on an artist’s name as well by using the equal sign.

The following example shows results for songs by the artist exactly named “War”.

How about searching for songs by album title? To do that, precede your search phrase with album:.

The following example shows results for songs that contain “rock” in the album title.

Just as with song titles, you can do an exact match search on album titles by including an equal sign in your search.

The following example shows results for songs from albums exactly titled “Thriller”.

If you know the name of the website that the song you are looking for is on, you can search by that as well. Precede your search phrase with website:.

The following example shows results for songs from websites that contain the word “Official” in their name.

While probably not as common, you can do exact match searches on website names as well with the equal sign.

The following example shows results for songs from the website exactly named “Internet Archive”.
