Can I download any of the songs from FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ is a search engine - it does not physically host any files. Refer to the search results to see if the songs are downloadable from their respective websites and, if so, go to their websites to download from the source.

Can I share songs with others on FINDAGROOV™
FINDAGROOV™ is not a peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing service - it is a search engine for music.

What genres of music can I search for using FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ can be used to search for music in any genre including, but not limited to: pop, R&B, soul, funk, rap, hip-hop, country, gospel, disco, dance, EDM, techno, reggae, opera, classical, hard rock, soft rock, heavy metal, grunge, alternative, jazz, and just about anything else not mentioned.

Can spoken comedy streams and downloads be searched for using FINDAGROOV™?
At this time, FINDAGROOV™ can only be used to search for music on the Internet. If there is enough of an interest in the future, then we will include the comedy genre.

What is the difference between FINDAGROOV™ and Google?
Google is an all-purpose search engine for everything while FINDAGROOV™ is specifically for finding free, full-length music streams and downloads on the Internet.

Are searches case-insensitive?
All searches with FINDAGROOV™ are case-insensitive.

How do I search for an exact match in FINDAGROOV™?
This is a hidden feature in FINDAGROOV™. To search for an exact match, as opposed to a partial match, precede your search phrase with an equal sign (=). For example, to search exactly for the word "War", type "=war" as your search term (without the quotes, of course).

How do I only search for song titles in FINDAGROOV™?
This is a hidden feature in FINDAGROOV™. To search only by song titles, precede your search phrase with "song:". For example, to search for songs with "disco" in its title, type "song:disco" (minus the quotes).

How do I only search for artists in FINDAGROOV™?
This is a hidden feature in FINDAGROOV™. To search only by artists, precede your search phrase with "artist:". For example, to search for performers with the last name "Wilson", type "artist:wilson" (minus the quotes).

How do I only search for album titles in FINDAGROOV™?
This is a hidden feature in FINDAGROOV™. To search only by album titles, precede the search term with "album:". For example, to search for albums with "Blue" in the title, type "album:blue" (without the quotes).

How do I only search for websites in FINDAGROOV™?
This is a hidden feature in FINDAGROOV™. To search only by website names, precede the search term with "website:". For example, to find songs from websites with "Official Website" in the name, type "website:official website" (minus the quotes).

What kind of searches can I do in FINDAGROOV™?
By default, FINDAGROOV™ searches songs by song title, artist name, album title, and website name and finds partial matches based on that order.

Can I combine the hidden search features in FINDAGROOV™ to improve my search results?
You can combine the equal sign with one of the other four to search for an exact match. For example, to search for songs with the exact title "Happy" (e.g. by Pharrell Williams), type "song:=happy". To search for songs by the funk band WAR, type "artist:=war". To search for songs from the album "Thriller", type "album:=thriller".

Will I find music videos in search results using FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ only searches for audio files and audio streams - video files are not included in search results.

Will I find song excerpts in search results using FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ only searches for full-length songs - song excerpts are not included in search results unless they are part of medleys.

What audio file types are included in search results for downloads when using FINDAGROOV™?
In terms of downloads, the typical audio file type is MP3. However, there are websites which also use M4A, OGG, WMA, and WAV, all of which are also included in search results. Real Audio is not included as it is too outdated an audio format.

Does FINDAGROOV™ include any Spotify or iTunes streams in its search results?
FINDAGROOV™ only includes free songs in its search results - streams and downloads from subscription-based services such as Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, Pandora, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and so forth are not included.

Do Internet radio broadcasts appear in FINDAGROOV™ search results?
Live radio broadcasts will not appear in FINDAGROOV™ search results because they are not static sound files. On the other hand, archived radio broadcasts on websites may show up in search results if they are predominantly music-based because they would be saved audio files.

Do podcasts appear in FINDAGROOV™ search results?
Generally, podcasts will not appear in FINDAGROOV™ search results unless they are 100% music-based with identifiable music content.

Are BitTorrent files included in FINDAGROOV™ search results?
BitTorrent audio content is not included in search results due to the legal gray area regarding the usage of BitTorrent technology on the web.

In general, what types of music can I search for using FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ can be used to search for any type of full-length music on the Internet that is freely and legally available for either streaming or downloading without the need for any kind of subscription access. This can be commercial or indie, modern or old school, popular or obscure, from any genre, and from any decade or era.

In general, what kinds of music will appear in search results from FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ returns songs that are freely and legally streamable and/or downloadable either from artist websites, blogs, press kit sites, or music archive sites. Possible results also include artist-permitted live fan recordings - there are a handful of recording artists who "permit" fans to freely (i.e., without profit) share concert recordings.

In general, what kinds of music will not appear in search results from FINDAGROOV™?
FINDAGROOV™ endeavors to never include illegal uploads, unauthorized bootlegs, torrents, music videos, song excerpts (unless they are part of a medley), music requiring subscription access, or generic audio crafted solely for such items as video games, websites, soundtrack audio, background music, sound effects, sampling, and so forth.

Why does FINDAGROOV™ limit the maximum number of viewable results for a search to 5,000?
While FINDAGROOV™ can easily facilitate larger results, there is rarely going to be an instance where a person will want or need more than that many returned. Plus, let's be realistic: the average person is not likely going to page through hundreds, let alone thousands, of search results unless it is just for fun or truly out of necessity.

What is the purpose of the Listening Booth page?
FINDAGROOV™ is a search engine. However, it does not help to have a search engine if you do not know what is out there to search for. The Listening Booth is meant to help introduce you to what is out there on the Internet in terms of free, legal, full-length streams and downloads by randomly spotlighting a different song each time you visit the page.

Why are the song volumes inconsistent on the Listening Booth page?
FINDAGROOV™ is a search engine - it does not physically host any music on its server. The song that is played on the Listening Booth is randomly selected from the Internet and streamed from its source website. FINDAGROOV™ has no control over the sound quality of the song being played.

Why is the letter 'E' missing in the spelling of the name FINDAGROOV™?
Because "There is nothing silent in FINDAGROOV™".
